We’ve had many inquiries about the PSO (Public Service Company of Oklahoma) tune-up rebate program. There are stipulations and requirements for this program. I inserted a link at the end of this email that will take you to the PSO website.
Rebate basics
Here are the basics.
- You have to be an active PSO customer.
- The program is designed for customers that need to catch up on their air conditioning maintenance. We recommend yearly maintenance.
- The PSO program requires two years from your last scheduled maintenance.
- The contractor has specific documentation to do and submit to PSO.
- The contractor submits for the rebate, so your final cost is the catch-up cost minus the rebate.
- You don’t have to make any submissions.
- There is also a $25 rebate for refrigerants.
Catch-up tune-ups
A catch-up tune-up is more extensive and time-consuming than a routine one. It is a comprehensive maintenance service performed on a working air conditioning system without regular maintenance. A tune-up rebate encourages customers to get a catch-up tune-up. These tune-ups help find problems early and avoid costly repairs.
Our Doc J HVAC technician will inspect the HVAC system, including the outdoor and indoor units. They will check the refrigerant level, inspect the condenser coils and clean them if necessary, and check the electrical connections and controls.
The technician will also inspect the air filter and clean the condensate drain line to ensure it is clear and blockage-free. They may also adjust the blower motor and check the thermostat settings to ensure the system runs efficiently and effectively.
After the inspection, the technician will provide a detailed report of their findings and recommendations for any repairs or upgrades that may be necessary.
Catch-up tune-ups cost more. Our regular tune-up is $114 vs. $130 for a catch-up. So after the rebate, your cost is $80.
Doc J’s Hea
t and Air Tulsa recommends yearly maintenance, so we encourage you to do maintenance and use the PSO program. When scheduling an appointment, mention that you will use the PSO rebate. This information helps us plan appropriately.
Hope to see you soon, Deborah Jenkins
